Food Production under Enver Hoxha
These days I was searching on the Internet for statistics about the number of calories the world produce, and according to http://www.worldhunger.org/articles/Learn/world%20hunger%20facts%202002.htm we have at least 2720 kilocalories/person/day with the actual production.
But the pure quantity of food producted in the world don't exactly show how much we can produce.
It seams to me that Albania unde Hoxha was a kind of autarky and there are lots of videos showing even mountais being used for food production
Anyone have any idea where can I found and article or any information about food statistics in Albania? Thanks

Re: Food Production under Enver Hoxha
The following chart is from Index Mundi and it displays the food production index of Albania between 1961-2009:
According to the website, the "[f]ood production index covers food crops that are considered edible and that contain nutrients. Coffee and tea are excluded because, although edible, they have no nutritive value." As you can see, there was a fairly steady increase throughout the Hoxha years.
Incidentally, I loathe Enver Hoxha and many of his contemporary dogmatic admirers, but the empirical evidence seems to verify that certain aspects of life improved for Albanians under state socialism.
