The problem with these Kosher industries in modernity is that it is extremely easy for them to get away with the same practices of the meat industry at large while keeping the title of Kosher, usually by cutting corners and the use of illegal labour. Capitalism exacerbates these issues, where the pressure to compete leads to scrimping, usually at the cost of the worker and the product (animal).

I agree that the Kosher method is less cruel than other methods, in theory. In the future, industries will need to be more closely monitored to ensure they remain as cruelty free as possible.

As humans, capable of rational thought, empathy, and higher faculties in general, it is our burden to make sure that those who cannot defend themselves are treated as fairly as possible.

Agreed, when capitalism enters the picture we get something that destroys everything good including a humane way to slaughter our meat. Though hopefully in the future we can create ways to leave meat (coming from someone who loves his sausage) and create meat alternatives. 3D printing is bringing us pretty close though.
