Venezuela Launches Energy Assistance to Poor Americans

A true act of socialist internationalism and a testament to the Chávez regime's goodwill and humanitarianism.

Only in a system as irrational as capitalism can a nation producing such vast amounts of wealth be incapable for providing even basic necessities to its citizenry. To paraphrase Slavoj Žižek, virtually every conceivable commodity can be produced, but the notion of socialized health care, for instance, is unthinkable.

I'm not sure if you're aware, but in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina the Cuban government volunteered the services of 1600 well-trained Cuban doctors to help in New Orleans. The US declined the offer.

It never ceases to entertain me when rich capitalist nations require assistance from states practicing a 'failed' system like socialism.
