In our system the umemployed cannot bring economic pressure to bear upon the media, nor do they have the political connections necessary to influence the media and thus are ignored by our for profit media entertainment outlets, as being not news worthy ie not in the interest of those that own the media corporations and their wealthy friends. And the sad fact is that if the box does not mention you: By and large you do not exist.
