Rotherham, Croydon North & Middlesbrough by-elections
Rotherham Result
UKIP seem to have picked up the mindless votes from the biased press reporting on Rotherham social services removing two East European foster children from the care of a couple who are UKIP members.

Ben Stevenson of the Communist Party fought a great campaign here, although there is some talk that only one anti-cuts candidate should have stood - which would then have defeated UKIP and the Lib Dems

Re: Rotherham, Croydon North & Middlesbrough by-elections
Good job to all involved
As for UKIP yes the press has some bias towards them depending on what paper you read and the other side of the argument was just shouted down as some sort of national outrage, personally I agree with social services on that issue.
Policy's on the EU and immigration should be sold sold and sold to the public as socialist issues because A they are socialist issues and B immigration the EU and the economy are the issues to the worker on the streets.Drop the political necrophilia in terms of imagery and those labour votes could start swinging towards socialism, not that a local election makes a difference come general elections but hey ho.Also if those standing did cover these issues then fair play I take my hat off to them.
Any chance of a thread where the details of who is standing where so we can follow the elections.
Again good effort to all involved

I agree that would be a good thread.
Re-immigration and the EU being socialist arguments, the CPB do argue for management of labour and goods and not the open door stuff some on the left promote. They are also anti-EU. I think we need to argue for sustainability in all socio-economic practices for the benefit of the people and the environment.
Re: Rotherham, Croydon North & Middlesbrough by-elections
Good for them,if they stopped the political necrophila (and I include the other parties aswell) they might do better,as for immigration I'd say from looking at the website they are a bit vague, the CPBML are the only leftist party in this country that has made it clear they oppose immigration.
