Views on wearing the Poppy?
I would be interested to know people's views here on the Poppy.
Do you wear one during that time of year?
Do you think that it has been hijacked by jingoistic "Great British" Imperialists and so has become something other than just remembering the fallen?
Do you think it was something always bad?
Certainly the Royal British Legion was created to prevent the political danger of independent ex-servicemen's organizations after World War I.
I cant make up my mind on this issue.

I wear one simply to show my respect to members of my family and friends who have died fighting alongside there folk and friends.Fuck the politics that's my opinion I remember our people's collective bravery and sacrifice.
I don't really see anything political behind it as such,People seem to wear it for all sorts of different reason from the pacifist who remembers" ALL" the victims of war to the little Britisher who believes the world was a better place under the British empire.
What really annoys me is Poppy Facism, again usually the little Britisher who thinks everybody should wear a poppy,at the end of the day it's each individuals personal choice and we should respect that.
