Greek pensioner kills himself before parliament
http://uk.news.yahoo.com/greek-pensioner-kills-himself-parliament-134353929.html
How much longer will we have to wait? How many more must die before people wake up?
A cash-strapped Greek pensioner shot and killed himself outside parliament in Athens on Wednesday saying he refused to scrounge for food in the rubbish, touching a nerve among ordinary Greeks feeling the brunt of the country's economic crisis.
How much longer will we have to wait? How many more must die before people wake up?

That's distressing news, but thank you for posting it. It really goes to show how desperate the situation is in Greece and other Capitalist economies. I'm sure we can all sympathize with the plight of the fallen man and with the plight of all of Greece's working people.

I've been informed that there are pretty revolutionary flyers being put up in Greece that say things along the lines of, "You caused these suicides by bullets, you will pay with bullets" or something like that. I can't find the link right now. Maybe this time the KKE won't be able to hold the revolutionaries back.

Judging from the amount of general strikes and demonstrations regularly occurring in the nation, I think it's safe to say that the majority of the Greek population is acutely aware of the dire situation they're facing. Whether or not they have extrapolated from this experience that it's the capitalist mode of production which is at fault, I cannot say. There is still too much of an emphasis being placed on "neoliberalism" in Europe, and that obscures the fact that neoliberalism itself is nothing more than the natural outgrowth of the manner by which capitalism has developed as a system. In other words, neoliberalism is a symptom, not the fundamental cause, of the problem.

Scumbags, one suicide per day because of you, but the day is coming when the desperate ones will choose to take the law into their own hands: you shall pay

It's unfortunate that it took such death for people to start waking up. I don't think that if it comes to revolution that it would be bloodless. I just hope that there is as little as possible to accomplish the task.
