The Ethical, Psychological Effects of Robotic Warfare

Lengthy but highly interesting article, and a bit outdated considering the technological advances discussed.
In any case, this is but another luxury to intensify humanity's already dazzling future. Global warming, ecological ruin, energy crises, nuclear war, worsening economic bust cycles, etc. are not enough? We are in luck. Why not add sophisticated robotic warfare into the mix? In fact, why not place it within the context of a profit-driven war climate driven by increasingly prosperous Private Military Companies (PMCs) and defense contractors and their corporate/government clientele? Now we have arbitrary profit-driven robotic warfare to look forward to! What place do humans have in war? Well, unless you are on the receiving side, not much, but who cares? It is not as though this technology could backfire or be utilized against us in the West. We can enjoy war through our digital media, snug on our sinking furniture as a burgeoning marketing sector for PMCs/defense contractors elicits increasing support for this emerging spectator "sport."
Ah, the joys of capitalist entrepreneurship!
