Well there you go it's not the numbers of immigrants that are responsible for shortages it's the welfare state that encourages a culture of laziness.

Mr Cameron will claim that despite three-quarters of the 2.5 million new British jobs since 1997 having been taken by foreign workers, it was "not a case of immigrants coming over here and taking our jobs".

"The real issue is this: migrants are filling gaps in the labour market left wide open by a welfare system that for years has paid British people not to work," he will say.

"That's where the blame lies - at the door of our woeful welfare system, and the last government who comprehensively failed to reform it.

Its so easy to blame it on the previous government, Labour did it as well. No

We hear this in the states all the time as well: Its not that the jobs are shitty, low paid and have NO benefits or security.. No No. It is because of the welfare state that people turn up their noses at such jobs. It is unadulterated horse manure, on both sides of the pond, of this I am certain. The facts are those jobs are NOT living jobs in the first instance. No man could raise a family on them even if he did double shifts and never took a single day off of work.
