Lest we forget.

I wonder how long we must wait for action like this?

Re: In pictures: Greeks strike over new austerity
I especially like the photo whee you see the protestors using their red banners (do you see the bat-sized wooden batons they are hoisted on?) to join together and form an instant disciplined armed blockade of the street or facility (can't tell exactly what). That is what a militant strike/protest picket line should look like, with an enthusiastic armed mass behind it. Once this degree of immediate actual power and militant defiance of the hegemonic order is realized, you can directly call for occupations that really challenge the system and balance of actual power...and can then send out mass detachments from the crowd to demand and rally all of the workers' movement and all the working class/oppressed neighborhoods come out and provide support (and try to make sure they bring out these special red banners and other creative 'educational materials' along with other logistical/safety/communication stuff and vehicles, if they can).
Try to turn every protest action into a worker's militia, and a worker's democracy, and a school of revolutionary struggle. Expand, expand, expand! Our foes will be trying to muster their forces and resources to crack down, so we have to already be moving to outnumber them, to outmaneuver them by getting to the masses and strategic power pressure points first, to shift the balance of power from the bourgeois state institutions and boardrooms and media outlets into the streets and the collective hands of the working class in revolt. Every step taken successfully encourages more revolt, more of the masses giving support and participating, thus more power shifting into their own hands, and this shows them a glimpse of the possibility of a revolution conquering all of society tomorrow and how society can be fundemantally reorganized and ruled BY THEM in their own interests. This actuality will get the point across better than 100 long-winded speeches. Revolutionaries should explain what these developments mean, tell the truth about the challenges ahead, and assert the next step---and do it in such a way that the many understand and do what must be done.

In other words, a socialist phalanx.
