Austerity Hawks Want a Return to 1920's Capitalism Empty Re: Austerity Hawks Want a Return to 1920's Capitalism

It comes as no surprise that the rich see salvation in capitalism, but I am confounded when it comes to the common man. Tradition and the manipulation of information have created a generation of ignorant sheep who cannot see that the true enemy of our nations is the institution of capitalism itself. As long as we continue to uphold this wretched economic system, we will languish underneath it. Our societies will progressively deteriorate because we are taught that the virus that is consuming us is in actuality a cure.

It was not socialism that led to depression in the late 1920s, but the irresponsible and pernicious tendencies of capitalism, particularly in its purest and most debauched form as finance capitalism. Was it not Keynes who formally exposed this incorrigible facet of capitalism post facto? Why, then, should we revert to a period in time and a class of behavior that served to plummet the world economy into the rift? Rather than lunge into the abyss by repeating the mistakes of the past, should we not seek superior alternatives? Unfortunately, self-serving simpletons such as the "austerity hawks" will see to it that true positive social change is faced with as great a challenge as possible at every possible turn.

Lack of massive and widening proletarian engagement in class struggle, lack of a cultivated proletarian class and revolutionary socialist-nationalist consciousness, lack of independent militant class organization, and ---the central root of the problem for our side---lack of genuine revolutionary socialist leadership: this is why common men feels THIS SYSTEM is the best and only possible way. It's not a mystery why common working people feel the way the do...their feelings flow logically from the circumstances they've found themselves in, and particularly from the long and continuing history of betrayal by almost all those misleaders who came speaking in the name of "the people".

I blame all of the 'Left' misleaderships, without exception. They've betrayed the best of the spirit and essence of socialism, and have in fact chosen to take another road other than toward genuine socialism, without exception. These 'Left' misleaderships have been the greatest objective obstacle to the workers' revolution and socialism, and this is more true today then ever before. Otherwise, they would have already succeeded, having had many many real-world opportunities even up to this very day to succeed in the effort to destroy capitalist society and build socialist society.

Look at Wisconsin! Failure of genuine revolutionary leadership, betrayal by the Democrats. Look at Egypt---the working people came out in a sufficient critical mass for a real revolution, but the lack of or failure of a revolutionary socialist working class leadership made it possible for misleaderships to fill the vacuum, and now we can see the price of this once again is bloody counterrevolution at the expense of the working people (look at how the conflicts between Muslims and Coptic Christians in Egypt are being wiped up again). It is always and everywhere centrally the severe crisis of leadership which presents the greatest obstacle to working people and to the genuine socialist cause.

The problem is not that the system is unbeatable...the problem is that the so-called 'alternative' faux-leaderships have not been serious consistent unwavering champions of the working class and not been for real socialist alternatives at all, despite what they say!

We basically face the same task today that the early revolutionary socialists faced back in the time of Marx and Engels. It is up to us to re-found, rebuild, regenerate the whole of our side of the class struggle on a genuine revolutionary socialist basis. Only then can we regain what was once won and go beyond it to complete the victory this time.

No one else will accomplish this task for us. No one else will reorganize the working class and bring it back into mass militant action and the massive exercise of its own independent power for its own class interests in the class struggle. No one else will regenerate and reforge a serious revolutionary socialist movement to develop, advance, and lead the working class in their historic struggle. There is no already existing seriously organized and active proletarian revolutionary socialist Left still alive today and providing the necessary leadership in any meaningful sense...WE MUST BE THAT, WE MUST BUILD THAT IN THE 21ST CENTURY.

As we effectively and consistently strive to accomplish our great task, we will find that many common working people are quite willing to re-do their calculations, seek a better alternative to this system, and to fight for that alternative once they have actually found it.

It seems like they forget what soon came after 1920's Capitalism.
