From what I've read, so far, I like were they're coming from. Their organisation in the UK (here) is, also, very agreeable.

Sure, my country is in a pretty damn shitty state, but that doesn't mean that my nation is inherently shit. We actually did have a common national identity, and, ironically, it was sort of based on revolutionary ideals though the actual fulfillment of those ideals never actually happened. Additionally, these United States sort of has smaller sub-nations in addition to the main nation in the same way that Great Britain is composed of England, Wales, and Scotland. (Not going to include northern Ireland here.) The relationship is best described as "E Plurbis Unum", "Out of Many, One". Though, our state boundaries, especially on the West Coast, don't really reflect that. Yes, we are a melting pot, but honestly we did a pretty good job on assimilating the immigrants and making them ours to the point where our real problem to national identity is racial and socioeconomic segregation as opposed to the European's immigration problems. (And, our state and local identities are being trumped by an increasingly centralized and cosmopolitan government.)

Also, it's quite funny to say that the United States caused "the Fall of the West" (I would rather call it the Degeneration and Cosmopolitanization of Western Culture, since Western countries were and are still technically doing well.) when the West was still strongest during most of our existence, until the mid 20th century. Honestly, you're overlooking not just one, but TWO major factors during the 20th century. Does the two world wars ring a certain bell in you?

And one more thing, these United States' symbols are NOT sinister and to say so is to be both quite paranoid and idiotic. The Statue of Liberty is actually of Lady Liberty who is in turn the Roman Goddess Libertas. Lady Liberty, as a concept, was often used in French national symbols too, considering that the French, as an actual nation, was formed during the French Revolution. And while I think the French nation is a bit too centralized and doesn't allow the "sub-nation" or regional identities to flourish, I'm certainly not going to shout for the abolition of France. In total, American symbols were mostly based on Greek and Roman symbols, especially of liberty, justice, or popular sovereignty. And once again, saying that our symbols are sinister is both insulting and puts you with the likes of David Icke and such.

I can't repeat how stupid that was. It just reeks of the "anti-imperialist" logic where you have the edgiest fuck around and venerate the most obscure and shitty of third-world dictators just as a rebellious message to the mainstream culture of the West. You are no better than the anarkiddies with their competition over how much of our civilization can they piss on to affirm their edginess as opposed to following actual anarchist political and economic ideology seriously. Instead, replace pissing on civilization with pissing on America and anarchism with nationalism and, gasp, actual socialism that focuses on the working class seizing the means of the production.

Oh, I just assumed that since he was really hyped up for action. He posted a lot of threads on the activism forum about anything he can do, and I sort of thought that he finally made a site to fulfill that.

I guess I might've been a little irrational there considering how much my nation got the middle finger. I always had a short temper.

That's alright; I actually think your criticism is valid. All to often the United States is used as political short-hand for Western Imperialism in general; which can lead to misapplied frustration.

A lot of people around the world get angry with America because of the imperialist actions of U.S.-led NATO and its rampant capitalist agenda. Britain (and many other countries) are little different except now smaller in stature and influence.  The U.S. government is just the worst offender in this sense.  I understand you being upset with the manifesto on that site.  Although it does make some valid points it's still some of the crankiest anti-American rhetoric I've ever seen.  I would hope that your vision for the United States would bear little resemblance to the portrait painted there and we could all consider ourselves allies.  I certainly would wish that an independent socialist England would be a good neighbour to the rest of the world and cease to harm and rob both its own people and foreign nations.  Finally, I can assure you that you are misunderstanding patriotic_worker.  I know him enough to say he is a good and sincere person simply trying to build broad alliances for the good of the majority.  It's not easy to move beyond idle talk into real action but surely something worth pushing for.  Finally, I (and I'm sure others in this thread would) totally agree about the "Support *insert dodgy dictator here*" fetishism that is popular with some.  I'd certainly much rather look towards more positive examples and progressive currents locally for the future.

Sorry for lashing out. I honestly was too pissed by the link to even realize you were the one who posted it. You can say that my inner nationalist came out there.
