Is Ba'athism left wing or right wing?

I have seen so many people on both the left and right that gives support to Bashar al-Assad. So i wonder is the ideology Ba'athism a left wing or a right wing. I have seen so many people go as far to call Ba'athism a fascist ideology. But Ba'athism is some kind of socialist ideology according to Wikipedia. So what do most of you guys think?

Ba'athism is a nationalist and corporatist middle class movement with some Marxist influences, so in that sense it's probably comparable to fascism. Wether to brand it left or right depends on how you want to define it (compare it to Peronism, which also qualifies as a rightwing socialism, but is usually placed on the left).

However, Bashar al-Assad has long abandoned Ba'athist ideology for neoliberal reforms. So in that sense there is nothing Ba'athist about the Syrian regime except its name.

I can't pretend to be an expert on Ba'athism, but I don't think it's a completely homogenous movement, so some versions of it could possibly be classified as leftist while others could possibly be classified as rightist. It could also probably be classified as a Third Positionist ideology like the Perónist Justicialism, but even the term itself is debatable.
