Dying or just slow? Empty Dying or just slow?

Any ideas on how we can liven up the forum, attract more members and get more discussion going again?

There were a number of interesting suggestions over the years. I encourage you to check out some of them and consider pursuing whatever course of action you feel would help.

Unfortunately, activity has slowed down considerably over the course of the past year. Many of us simply haven't had the time to invest in attempting to revitalize the forum. Hopefully, things will turn around soon. In any case, whatever you would be willing to do to help build activity on the forum would be most appreciated.

Speaking for myself, I haven't been as active as I would otherwise prefer due to having recently moved and starting a new, more demanding job. I intend on remedying the situation soon, however.

As for your question, the most effective method for increasing forum activity, in my experience, is to attempt to post at least once a day. Simply stated, activity begets activity. Theoretical topics tend to generate the most responses, particularly those of a controversial nature. Articles, on the other hand, are generally the least likely to evoke responses.

I think to help get things moving we could

Promote the SP Forum / Idea on other forums and also to others we may know either as comrades or via other social media outlets we use.

Develop promo items - like leaflets, posters, stickers, calling cards etc and get them distributed as we go about our daily activities - work, using public transport etc. By doing this we can get people of likemind here and then make more contacts to develop activities on a more national and hopefully local level.

Start talking about what we believe in and developing our ideas, people who inspire us and why.

Discuss how we could organise - autonomous cells on a platform, a network of cells or a central org, which one would be best?

Just a few thoughts to get people thinking..........

Excellent suggestions, patriotic_worker. I know that Admin is currently working on a few of them; hopefully they'll yield positive results so we can proceed to the others.

My query dons't desreve a new thread.
If the forum is slow what can we do? Post on threads where we haven't posted? Make new threads even if we know they will not bring much discussion?
