Japan's Dangerous Shift to the Far Right
It seems that reactionary Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe is trying to realize the old dream of the "Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere" as he "reaches out" to other East Asian nations including Vietnam, Thailand, and Indonesia. Chinese newspaper the China Daily warned against Japan trying to "contain and encircle China".
This "coincidently" coincides with the news that Japan is planning to buy the American unmanned survelience plane called Global Hawk to gather information on the People's Repubic of China and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea—a clear infringement of both nation's soverignity! This follows Japan ignoring China's warning that Japanese aircraft and vessles have infringed on China's territory. Japanese newspaper Asahi have said, "[i]t is vital for countries facing challenges posed by China’s growing economic and military power to bolster their cooperation".
Japan is systematically stepping up its military ambitions. The militaristic maniacs have already raised their "defense" budget (the first time in 11 years), gave military aid to other countries, and performed joined military operations with their master, the USA.
Previous Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda already increased the budget of the Japanese coast guard, purchasing new ships to patrol the Diaoyu islands, with the intention to deploy more by 2015. The service for older vessles has also been extended. The Diaoyu islands were part of China since at least 1534 until Japan illegally seized them in 1895 during the First Sino-Japanese War. Former Prime Minister Noda purchased three uninhabited islands that China claims from a Japanese citizen which Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping called a "farce". These moves clearly violate the terms of the Cairo Declaration and the Potsdam Proclamation, which demanded Japan relinquish control of the Diaoyu islands to China as a condition of their surrender in WWII.
Shinzo Abe has also hinted he will "rexamine" Japan's past apology for its crimes such as forcing women to become sex slaves of the Imperial Japanese Army.
Japan's aggressive nature has once again been brought to daylight as the possiblility of reinvasion looms. "If the Japanese reactionaries opt to launch reinvasion, obsessed with their old dream, this will only precipitate their destruction", warns the Korean Central News Agency of the DPRK.

Well personally I despise both of those countries governments, it isn't really that surprising though..

East Asian regional power struggle sums this up for the most part. China is trying to assert its authority onto the region further, and Japan is essentially doing the same.
It's imperialism at its finest in the works, which is the worse one though? The Chinese imperialists or the Japanese ones?
Don't dare just paint Japan as the big bad guy in this situation however, neither of their governments are innocent.

I see this as good news, I wish Japan luck in escaping liberalism.
I don't know where you get the idea the US is Japan's master, the Japanese have a very independent foreigners policy. And with Abe's help, hopefully the can rid themselves of the horrid pacifist article in their constitution.
