Kropotkin and Mutual Aid.
"Who are the fittest: those who are continually at war with each other, or those who support one another?"
Kropotkin believed that animals who were co-operative could achieve more and supported the idea of mutual aid. He based this on his observations of various from wolves to ruminants.
For more information, read his book called "Mutual Aid: A factor of evolution".

If you are going to reply please make it constructive. I wouldn't go posting "Seriously Bro?" to counter anything you have posted. That would be seen as not contributing to the overall thread.

Re: Kropotkin and Mutual Aid.
Kropotkin was correct in believing that competition can frequently lead to suboptimal results and that cooperation is a more desirable manner by which to organize social relations—one need only observe the immense waste, conflict, and insecurity that characterizes capitalist society to recognize the advantages of the latter.
As for Mutual Aid: A Factor of Evolution in particular, it was a very important corrective to the social Darwinian paradigm which dominated the biological sciences from the 19th-early 20th century. Whether or not his research as a naturalist legitimately validated his anarcho-communist political and economic philosophy is another matter altogether. (I'm of the view that free access communism will probably only be feasible when either material scarcity is overcome or technological advancements have rendered human labor extraneous.)
