By The Associated Press – 7 hours ago

THESSALONIKI, Greece — Greek riot police have clashed with anarchists in the country's No. 2 city after activists marched in support of jailed comrades suspected of being members of armed radical groups. Police say scores have been arrested.

Police have staged a large-scale operation to prevent the march in Thessaloniki from escalating into violence and widespread destruction of property. Officers moved quickly after the start of the march when some of the participants turned fire extinguishers on riot police, who responded with a heavy use of tear gas and stun grenades.

Several of the marchers reached Thessaloniki University campus, which is normally off-limits to police. Authorities say they are on alert for possible violent incidents later Saturday."

"Mail bomb defused at maximum security prison in Greece where parcel-bombing suspects are held

By The Associated Press – Mar 31, 2011

ATHENS, Greece — Police on Thursday defused a mail bomb sent to a maximum security prison in Athens where alleged members of an armed anarchist group are on trial, authorities said.

The parcel was sent to the governor of Korydallos prison in western Athens. Prison authorities determined that the package was suspicious after scanning it, police said in a statement.

The padded envelop had Italian postage stamps but no postmark, the statement said. As senders address it listed that of the four-nation military alliance, Eurofor, based in Florence, Italy.

Nine suspected members of the armed Greek anarchist group Revolutionary Nuclei of Fire are currently on trial at a court set up inside Korydallos prison, for their alleged role in bombings and other attacks. The group has claimed responsibility for a spate of parcel bombings last November, that targeted embassies and even reached the office of German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

In December, Italian anarchists sent letter bombs to three embassies in Rome in solidarity with jailed Greek militants.

Greece's police Thursday urged state-run services and mail deliver companies to remain vigilant to more possible mail-bomb attacks."

I really don't see how mail bombing could incite a revolution.

Let us look at it simply: The police are holding political prisoners; said prisoners associates, retaliate; masses see that god like state is not so god like, that the control grid is not so tight as well as seeing that the promises of the oligarchs are lies; they get ideas about NOT being submissive subjects any longer,"when in the course of human events," style, if possible but by all means if necessary. Not complex.

This act in and of itself will not incite anything except repressions which will lead to...........and so the circle gains momentum until a new balance is meet. All ripples on the pond add to the chaos on the surface of the its water after all.

In all times of maximum disorder the police, army, and the like, become merely another armed social force among armed social forces, because one of the primary characteristics of disorder is the loss of the monopoly on force and authority that always implicitly backs all praetorian forces at all times. Once this is lost; then the prize is up for grabs. Authority is after all the end of all political movements in the end. Also I should note that it is NOT uncommon for the ranks and files of the security forces, army and such to come over to the masses and act as leaven to the dough.
